Crown & Bridge
Crowns and Bridges restore function, improve appearance, and keep your teeth, gums and jaws healthy.
A damaged or lost tooth causes the teeth to tilt, altering your bite and smile. Consequently, chewing becomes painful and increased decay can accelerate the eventual loss of more teeth.
Types of Crowns and Bridges
- Ceramo-Metal: Porcelain fused to a metal framework
- Ceramic/Zirconium: Porcelain fused to a Non-Metallic frame
- Composite/Polymer: Reinforced composite hybrid
- Full Gold
Procedure
Step One
Your dentist reshapes your teeth to allow room for the crown or bridge. An impression is taken and the matching shade colour is chosen. A temporary crown/bridge is inserted to protect your prepared teeth.
Step Two
After removing your temporary, your permanent restoration is fitted, adjusted and then cemented into place.
